Abortion is murder.

There is no other way to put it. The baby is an innocent life; one that is being taken by the mother for almost no other reason except for convenience.

74% of women murder the baby for the reason that it would "change [their] life." There were over 600,000 abortions in 2018. Additionally, there are approximately 13,000 late-term abortions every year. (At this point there is a heartbeat, the baby can recognize their mother's voice, and the baby can feel pain.)

I (like most conservatives) support abortions in cases of rape, incest, and medical necessity. Presidents Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan outlined the same position. Abortion advocates often point to these instances as the foundation of their support. However, 1% of abortions are because of rape, and 0.5% are done because of incest. These small exceptions to the rule should not be used to dictate the rule.

Around 800 women die every year because of childbirth in the United States. This is with abortion legal. The proposed implication is that this number would skyrocket if abortion was made illegal, but does not consider more people would consider abstinence as an option (or more carefully using contraception, or choosing more effective contraception).

Ultimately, deaths during childbirth are accidental, but deaths from abortion are intentional. It does not make sense to continue the intentional to stop the potential of more accidental. Especially when the intentional is more than 750X more common than the accidental.
